The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is highlighting how its animals stay cool during the summer months. According to zoo staff, many of the animals are adapted for desert environments but still enjoy water activities when temperatures increase.

The camel herd receives regular hose-downs, while Florence the ostrich takes dips in the pool. Little Girl, a sulcata tortoise, enjoys time in the mud. Memo, a jaguar at the zoo, has access to a pool as well. Nia, a black rhino, also participates in water-based activities.

These behaviors are part of routine animal care at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens to help ensure animal comfort during hot weather.
