The San Jacinto Mountains are expected to be covered in snow soon, marking the start of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s Annual Snow Guessing Contest. The event begins on October 1 and continues until the first measurable inch of snow falls at the Tramway’s Mountain Station, which is located at an elevation of 8,516 feet.

The contest awards four regular Tram admission tickets and a special Tram gift memento to the first ten entries that correctly guess the date of snowfall. If there are more than ten correct entries, winners will be selected based on the earliest postmark date.

To participate, contestants must write their best-guess date on a postcard and mail it to: Snow Guessing Contest, 1 Tram Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262. Only one date per postcard is accepted. Additional information and rules can be found at https://pstramway.com/snow-guessing-2024.

The top of the Tramway will soon be blanketed in snow, making a snow day just a short 10-minute tramcar ride from the desert floor. The contest has always had winners each year since its inception.
