A 50-year-old man from Apple Valley, identified as Azmi Alsanam, died on September 4, 2025. According to information released by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Alsanam sustained fatal injuries at approximately 10:30 a.m. on a highway shoulder near coordinates 33.88452, -116.50870 in Desert Hot Springs, California. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:08 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol-Indio is leading the investigation into the incident under case number 250904IC0062. Authorities have notified Alsanam’s next of kin.

“Refer all inquiries to investigating agency,” the coroner’s office stated in its release.

No further details about the circumstances surrounding the death have been made available.
