After a six-month investigation, the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit, with help from the Riverside County District Attorney Office Gang Impact Team, has arrested 25-year-old Johnathen Amezola of Hemet. Amezola was located and arrested in Menifee on July 6, 2025. He has been booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for murder.

The incident began on January 12, 2025, when deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon on Normandy Court. Upon arrival, they found a male adult with significant injuries who was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as Raul Solorio, aged 20, from Hemet.

A juvenile male also arrived at a local hospital shortly after with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound related to the same incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to identify any additional suspects involved. They encourage anyone with information to contact Master Investigator D. Robertson or Investigator J. Vasquez.
