Arrest made in Temecula child annoyance case

On May 31, 2025, the Southwest Sheriff’s Station received a report of a child annoyance incident in Temecula. The incident involved the display of harmful material to minors on Winchester Road. According to the report, several juveniles were approached by an individual who exhibited inappropriate conduct and harmful materials in a public area.

Following an investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Joshua Michael Wafer, aged 32, from Hemet. Wafer was subsequently arrested at his residence for charges including child annoyance, exhibiting harmful material to a minor, and committing a felony while on bail.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has indicated that there may be additional victims related to this case. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact Deputy Kevin Au at (951) 696–3000.
