Attempted homicide arrest made by Riverside County authorities

On Monday, July 14, 2025, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon at Golden West Avenue and Condor Drive in Jurupa Valley. They found an adult male with a gunshot wound. Medical aid was provided until paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators from the Jurupa Valley Station initiated an investigation which led to the involvement of the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit due to the victim’s poor prognosis. The suspect was identified as Lorenzo Howse Jr., aged 19, from Bloomington.

On Friday, July 18, 2025, Lorenzo Howse Jr. was apprehended during a search warrant operation in Bloomington with assistance from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Division and Riverside Sheriff’s Major Crime Unit. He has been charged with attempted murder and is held at Robert Presley Detention Center.

The investigation continues actively without further details being released currently. The Riverside Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to contact Master Investigator Deanne of the Central Homicide Unit or Jurupa Valley Station Investigator Medina.
