Attempted murder suspect arrested in Riverside’s Lake Hills area

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station responded to an assault report in the unincorporated area of Riverside known as Lake Hills. The incident occurred at a residence on Angle Canyon Drive. The victim reported being attacked by her estranged ex-boyfriend, Curtis Deshawn Lowe, aged 39 and a resident of Los Angeles. A second victim was also attacked but managed to defend herself, causing injury to Lowe.

Deputies arrived at the scene and arrested Lowe without incident. All parties involved were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators from the Lake Mathews Station took over the investigation and discovered that Lowe had strangled and assaulted both victims. He was subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing with no further details available at this time.
