Augustine Casino announced on Mar. 17 the opening of a new exhibition at its Seven Feathers Gallery, featuring artwork by eighth-grade students from Toro Canyon Middle School in Thermal. The exhibition, titled “Mi Gente, Mi Tierra” (My People, My Land), is now open to the public and highlights the perspectives of young residents on the Coachella Valley.
The exhibition aims to provide insight into the cultural and environmental connections that shape life in the East Valley. Students explored themes such as family traditions, local festivals, and the relationship between people and the desert landscape. Lindsay Grant, chief marketing officer at Augustine Casino, said, “We are incredibly moved by the talent and perspective these students have brought to Seven Feathers. The East Valley is a community built on hard work and rich traditions. Seeing these students honor the East Valley so beautifully reminds us why we created this gallery; to provide a platform for the authentic voices of the Coachella Valley.”
This marks a departure from Seven Feathers Gallery’s usual focus on established local artists by inviting middle school students to participate. The restaurant continues its goal of being a space where dining meets local culture. Guests can view the student artwork while enjoying meals from a full-service menu.
