Burglary suspect arrested after assaulting two people in their home

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a burglary report in the unincorporated area of Desert Hot Springs. The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Dillon Road. According to the victim, her ex-boyfriend entered her residence and assaulted both her and her current boyfriend while they were asleep.

Deputies arrived at the scene but found that the suspect had already fled. One of the victims sustained significant injuries and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The investigation was taken over by the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team, who identified Isaac Murrell as the suspect. Murrell is a 35-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs.

With assistance from Gang Task Force-Region 1 and Riverside Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau, authorities located Murrell on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs and arrested him without incident. He was booked at John Benoit Detention Center for charges including burglary and assault causing great bodily injury.
