On October 2, 2025, deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an open door at a residence on Mandarin Drive in Valle Vista, an unincorporated area near Hemet. Upon arrival, deputies found the home unsecured and appearing to have been ransacked. A search of the area did not locate either the homeowner or any suspects.
The Hemet Special Enforcement Team took over the investigation due to their familiarity with the residence. They contacted the homeowner and determined that a burglary had taken place. The owner reported that several items were missing, including musical instruments and a grey Ford F150 truck.
The following day, October 3, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station, working with assistance from the Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, found the stolen vehicle on Sundance Lane in Menifee. During a traffic stop, they arrested Tony Goff, age 51 and a resident of Lake Elsinore. According to authorities, several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen musical instruments were recovered during a search of the vehicle.
Both the stolen music equipment and vehicle were returned to their owner. Goff was booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center on multiple felony charges including vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
Law enforcement stated that this is an ongoing investigation and no further details are being released at this time. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact Deputy Roberto Valentin at the Hemet Sheriff’s Station by calling (951) 791-3400.
