Today, Congressman Ken Calvert announced that over $67 million has been allocated for infrastructure projects in the 41st Congressional District. This funding is part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill, which was recently approved by the House Appropriations Committee and will now proceed to the House floor.

The bill includes funding for several transportation projects within the district. These projects include $5.6 million for the Cook Street Bridge Project in Palm Desert, $1.7 million for Corona Trails Improvement Project, and $5 million each for various other initiatives such as the French Valley Airport Contract Control Tower Project and Indian Canyon Drive Project in Palm Springs.

Congressman Calvert emphasized his commitment to returning tax dollars to his district: “The resources provided for Riverside County projects in this bill will help communities throughout our region,” he said. Local leaders expressed gratitude towards Calvert’s efforts in securing these funds.

Palm Desert Mayor Jan C. Harnik noted that “This funding moves us one step closer to upgrading a stretch of roadway that is flood-prone.” Similarly, Corona Mayor Jim Steiner appreciated the investments aimed at enhancing mobility and safety.

Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington thanked Calvert for supporting aviation improvements at French Valley Airport. CVAG Executive Director Tom Kirk also highlighted the importance of addressing road closures with funded projects like Indian Canyon Drive.

Other officials from cities such as Calimesa, Lake Elsinore, Norco, Menifee, Rancho Mirage, and La Quinta echoed similar sentiments regarding their respective infrastructure enhancements made possible through this federal funding initiative.
