The City of Cathedral City announced on May 7 that it will hold its annual State of the City luncheon, titled “Cathedral City Takes Flight,” on Tuesday, May 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort.

The event aims to provide residents, business leaders, and community stakeholders with an overview of Cathedral City’s economic progress over the past year. The program will highlight local businesses and outline key initiatives and priorities for the city’s future.

Mayor Raymond Gregory is scheduled to deliver the State of the City address at approximately 12:30 p.m., joined by members of the city council. The gathering will also include a business expo and awards presentation recognizing contributions within the community. This year’s event introduces a special sponsor reception with city officials beginning at 10:30 a.m. Patrick Evans, Chief Meteorologist for KESQ News Channel 3 and host of “Eye on the Desert,” will host alongside Hocker Productions.

Sponsorship opportunities start at $1,000; interested parties can contact Jeff Hocker via email or phone as listed in event materials. Sponsors include organizations such as College of the Desert, Sun Community Credit Union, Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC), Visit Greater Palm Springs, KGAY 103.1 FM & Sunny 106.5 FM among others.

Greater Coachella Valley Chamber contributes to regional economic vitality by promoting tourism and hosting events that connect community members; it also advocates for businesses through networking opportunities and educational resources across cities including Cathedral City according to the official website.

According to information from GCVCC’s website, the chamber promotes pro-business policies locally and regionally while fostering partnerships among businesses, government entities, and other stakeholders to support economic growth in areas like Cathedral City.
