Cathedral City man dies after injury; police investigate circumstances

An 86-year-old man from Cathedral City, identified as Raymond Johnson, died on December 4, 2025. According to information released by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Johnson was injured at approximately 4:20 p.m. on December 3 at the intersection of Tachevah Drive and Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City, California. He was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he died at 12:58 a.m. the following day.

The Cathedral City Police Department is handling the investigation into the incident under case number 2512C-0416. The coroner’s office has notified Johnson’s next of kin. Authorities have advised that all further inquiries should be directed to the investigating agency.
