Members of the business community have been invited to take part in a special Jeep tour at Chuckwalla National Monument, organized by CactusToCloud Institute in partnership with Red Jeep Tours. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9th, from noon to 5 PM.

The tour will focus on Painted Canyon and include expert naturalist guides. Organizers plan to discuss how outdoor recreation and public land protections can impact the economy of Coachella Valley. Lunch and transportation from Palm Desert are included at no cost, but registration is required due to limited space.

Participants will explore local geology and rare plant species unique to the area. There will be opportunities to ask questions about Chuckwalla National Monument and consider ways that desert public lands might benefit tourism and the broader community.

According to organizers, “During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating other-wordly geology found right here in our backyard, and see rare plants found nowhere else on Earth. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about Chuckwalla National Monument, and we will be able to explore the opportunities our desert public lands offer our tourism industry and community members alike.”

Attendees are asked to wear sturdy footwear suitable for hiking through soft sand or uneven terrain. Layered clothing is recommended as Jeeps are not enclosed, and a sweater or jacket may be necessary. The tour includes some walking or hiking, so participants should be in good physical condition; it is not advised for those with mobility issues or certain health concerns without consulting a doctor.

Limited bathroom facilities will be available during the tour. For further information or inquiries, interested parties can contact CactusToCloud Institute by email.

The event aims to foster greater understanding of local natural resources while highlighting their value for economic development through tourism.
