The City of Coachella announced it will host a community town hall on May 11 to provide information and hear from residents regarding the Coachella Municipal Utility and related long-term planning efforts in the city’s eastern development areas.

According to the announcement, information will be shared about a proposed data center concept that has been referenced in prior municipal utility discussions. City representatives will share an overview of the municipal utility, provide a timeline of actions to date, and outline the process for evaluating any potential future projects. The city said no project has been approved at this time.

The event will take place at the Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley, located at 85350 Bagdad Ave., from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The town hall will be facilitated by CV Strategies, a local communications firm that has worked with the city on community outreach efforts, to support a structured and respectful discussion.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of both city representatives and the developer team and receive direct responses. Local media are invited to attend, with a designated area available for recording, photography, and livestreaming.

More details can be found on the organization’s website.
