The Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District is set to host the Memorial Day 2025 Ceremony on Monday, May 26, at 9:00 AM. The event, in collaboration with American Legion Post 739 of Indio, will honor those from the United States Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives for the country. It will be held at the cemetery grounds located at 82-925 Avenue 52, Coachella, CA.
“Memorial Day is not only a time to reflect on the lives lost in service to our country, but also a moment to gather in unity and gratitude,” said Ernesto Rosales, Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District. “It is our privilege to host this ceremony on sacred ground, where so many of our veterans now rest in peace. Their sacrifice is forever honored here.”
Steve Sanchez, City of La Quinta Councilmember, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The event will begin with a commemorative flyover supported by the Palm Springs Air Museum and Southwest Landscape & Security.
The program includes introductions of local dignitaries and honored guests. Deacon Marty Sullivan from Our Lady of Soledad Church will deliver an invocation. The National Anthem will be performed by the Coachella Valley High School Choir.
Brian Biamonte will read General Logan’s historic Memorial Day Order. A flag folding ceremony by Scouting America Troop 1701 members will follow.
The American Legion Riders of Post 739 will lead a Pass in Review tribute to fallen veterans. Presenters announced by Mr. Sanchez will present wreaths.
A rifle volley salute by the American Legion Post 739 Honor Guard and a traditional playing of Taps are planned as part of honoring the departed. The ceremony concludes with “Amazing Grace” and patriotic songs by the Coachella Valley High School Choir.
