The inaugural Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair is set to take place on Wednesday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event aims to bridge the gap between local businesses and public agencies, offering insights into the procurement process and fostering connections between vendors and decision-makers.

According to the organizers, the event’s primary goal is to educate local businesses on how to engage with government agencies, which can often be a daunting task. As stated, “The purpose of this event is to raise local business awareness of what we buy and how to do business with these public agencies, which can often times be an intimidating and complicated process.”

Attendees can expect to receive guidance on initiating business relationships with public entities, followed by networking opportunities with key personnel from various departments. The event will provide a platform for vendors to interact with decision-makers who influence the procurement needs of their respective organizations.

In addition to facilitating connections, the fair will showcase the diverse range of businesses that collaborate with local government entities. As mentioned, “A sampling of businesses local government works with includes: Landscapers, painters, plumbers, electricians, janitorial, security, web developers, technology consultants, printing companies, graphic designers, marketing agencies… and much more.”

Participating agencies at the fair include the City of Cathedral City, City of Coachella, City of Desert Hot Springs, City of Indio, City of La Quinta, City of Palm Desert, City of Palm Springs, City of Rancho Mirage, Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG), Desert Recreation District, Riverside County, Riverside County Office of Economic Development, and State of California Employment Training Panel (ETP).

Business owners interested in exploring opportunities with public agencies are encouraged to RSVP via Eventbrite to secure their spot at the Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair.
