Coachella Valley Repertory Executive Artistic Director Adam Karsten has announced CVRep’s 2024-2025 season, which includes five new productions and a world premiere. The upcoming season features award-winning plays and musicals not previously produced by CVRep, along with a new work selected from the 2023 Origins New Works Program.

The season begins with “Next to Normal,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning musical that received 11 Tony Award nominations. Following this is “The 39 Steps,” a comedy inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s work. The lineup continues with “The Light in the Piazza,” a Broadway musical known for its endearing and tuneful nature. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Jesus Christ Superstar” will also be part of the season, offering a powerful and provocative performance. Rounding out the list is “Other Desert Cities,” a family drama that was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

The world premiere production, chosen from over 300 submissions to the Origins New Works Program, will be announced at a later date. Single tickets for this production will go on sale subsequently.
