The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is set to host a special National Day of Prayer event on May 1st, offering a platform for communal reflection and worship. Attendees are invited to a complimentary breakfast at 7:00 AM, with the prayer and worship session commencing at 8:00 AM. The gathering, open to the public, will transpire at the mission’s facility in Indio.

Local religious leaders will guide attendees in prayers that focus on various elements including the nation, government, churches, families, and individuals facing hardships. “At CVRM, we believe in the power of prayer to transform lives, bring hope, and strengthen our community,” stated Darla Burkett, the mission’s Executive Director, emphasizing the collective goal of offering support to those who face challenges.

The National Day of Prayer, a tradition established by Congress in 1952, calls on Americans annually to join in prayer for the nation. This year’s theme, “Pour out to the God of hope and be filled,” aims to reinforce shared faith and collective intentions.

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission has provided essential services including shelter, meals, and recovery programs to the local community for over five decades. Through its faith-based efforts, the mission continues to foster hope and assistance for those in need.
