College of the Desert Athletics issued the following press release on April 23:

COD (25-13; 18-6) captured the season series over their Conference opponents, 3 games to 1, which is crucial in deciding a potential tiebreaker, as the Roadrunners knocked off the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (19-18; 16-5), 3-0.

With the win and a San Bernardino Valley loss in their upcoming three-game series against the Cerro Coso Coyotes, Desert would (at the very least) be co-Conference Champs with the Wolverines, but hold a tiebreaker advantage to be the automatic qualifier (AQ) to the playoffs.

More than one loss to Cerro Coso next week for San Bernardino Valley and your Roadrunners are outright IEAC Champions.

Freshman left handed starting pitcher Kenny Keller (Tampa (FL) Thomas R. Robinson) threw his first complete game of the season, shutting out the Wolverines with a season high nine strike outs in grabbing his sixth win of the season.

Freshman left fielder Graham Gonzales (Valparaiso (IN) H.S.) was the only Roadrunner with a multi-hit game, and the only Roadrunner with an extra base hit, a leadoff double in the sixth, his seventh double of the season.

Freshman short stop Dillon Baker (Tampa (FL) Carrollwood Day School) collected two more runs scored on the day, scoring the winning run in the sixth and an insurance run in the eight, for his 42nd run of the season.

College of the Desert Baseball will conclude the 2022 regular season with a non-Conference game against the East Los Angeles Huskies (16-20) on Sophomore Day, Thursday, April 28 at 4p.
