College of the Desert has issued the following press release:

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, during the City of Palm Springs’ regularly-scheduled city council meeting, College of the Desert Board Chair Rubén AríAztlán Pérez and Mac McGinnis, Vice President of Maas Companies, will jointly provide an update on the Palm Springs Development Project, the “Palm Springs Campus.” Attending virtually from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to provide support and answer questions will be COD Superintendent/President Martha Garcia, Ed.D., Executive Vice President Christina Tafoya, and Trustee Fred Jandt.

The presentation will update the timeline for the project and provide other project details. For many years, offering a campus in Palm Springs has been a goal of College of the Desert. Since January 2018, a temporary campus in Palm Springs has allowed students to access classes and training. The College remains committed to the planning and completion of a permanent campus to better serve students and the community. 

People can view the meeting live on the City’s cable television station on Spectrum Channel 17, on the City’s website, or on the City’s YouTube channel. 

The public can use several methods to address the City Council, including submitting an online public comment form, emailing public comments, or by calling in to the virtual meeting.
