Death of Ambrocio Cota under investigation by California Highway Patrol

A 49-year-old man from Nuevo, California, died on August 12, 2025, following an incident on State Highway 74 in Homeland. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Ambrocio Cota.

According to official records, Cota sustained injuries at approximately 6:40 p.m. on the roadway in the 32000 block of State Highway 74. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:58 p.m. The California Highway Patrol – Temecula is handling the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The next of kin has been notified. For additional details, authorities have directed inquiries to the investigating agency.
