Renato Del Mundo, a 76-year-old resident of Bakersfield, California, died at Riverside Community Hospital on August 28, 2025. According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Del Mundo sustained injuries on August 20, 2025, at approximately 12:44 a.m. The incident occurred on the eastbound side of State Route 223 about 800 feet west of Fairfax Road in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol in Bakersfield is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Del Mundo’s injury and subsequent death. The coroner confirmed that next of kin have been notified.

“Refer all inquiries to the investigating agency,” stated the official comment from authorities.

No further details regarding the cause or manner of death were released as this is the final report from the coroner’s office.
