Death of Coachella resident Jorge Guillen under investigation by California Highway Patrol

On October 10, 2025, Jorge Guillen, a 50-year-old resident of Coachella, California, died at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio. The incident that led to his death occurred earlier that day at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the northbound roadway of Grapefruit Boulevard, about 0.20 miles south of Avenue 54 in Coachella.

Guillen was transported to the hospital following the injury and was pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m. His next of kin have been notified.

The California Highway Patrol – Indio is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. All inquiries regarding this case are being directed to the investigating agency.
