Death of Downey woman investigated after incident on I-15 in Murrieta

A 22-year-old woman from Downey, California, died on August 23, 2025, following an incident on the southbound Interstate 15 near Winchester Road in Murrieta. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Yostena Sabet.

The coroner’s report states that the injury and subsequent death occurred at approximately 9:33 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively. Both events took place about one mile north of Winchester Road on Interstate 15.

The California Highway Patrol – Temecula is handling the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sabet’s death. Next of kin have been notified.

Authorities advise those seeking more information to contact the investigating agency.
