Death of inmate reported at Robert Presley Detention Center

A 46-year-old Hispanic male died on August 22, 2025, while in custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center located at 4000 Orange Street in Riverside, California. The individual was housed in unit 5B, cell 80 of the facility at the time of his death.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office held custodial responsibility for the deceased. The manner and mode of death are currently pending further investigation by authorities. The individual had been booked into custody prior to his death.

The incident is being handled as a coroner’s case under number 2025-06555 by Riverside County officials.
