Death of inmate under investigation at Riverside County facility

A 36-year-old Black male died on August 17, 2025, while in the custody of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. The individual was pronounced dead at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Murrieta, California. According to information released by the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau, the manner and cause of death are currently pending further investigation.

The decedent was under custodial status at the time of his death. The coroner’s case number for this incident is 2025-06408. No additional details about the circumstances or events leading up to the death have been made public at this time.
