Palm Desert attorney Anyse Smith has been appointed as the zone five representative on the Desert Healthcare District & Foundation Board. The decision was made on January 8, following a selection process that considered six applicants. Smith brings both legal experience and involvement with local organizations such as the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission and the Coachella Valley Association of Governments.
According to the announcement, “Ms. Smith’s legal expertise, lived experience and commitment to equitably advancing wellness led to her unanimous selection.”
The Desert Healthcare District & Foundation is currently working on a new strategic plan that will shape its funding and programming for at least the next five years. As part of this effort, community members are invited to attend one of seven listening sessions scheduled for February to share their health and wellness priorities. More details about these sessions can be found on the organization’s website (https://www.dhcd.org/District-to-host-7-community-listening-sessions-in-February-to-help-inform-new-strategic-plan).
