The Desert Wildlife Center is seeking volunteers for upcoming events aimed at raising awareness and funds for its mission to protect and rehabilitate local wildlife. The center is calling on community members who are passionate about wildlife to participate in these key activities.

The first event, the Indio International Tamale Festival, will take place from December 7-8, 2024, at Miles Avenue Park in Indio. Volunteers will assist at the center’s booth, engaging with festival visitors and sharing information about the center’s work.

Another opportunity to volunteer is at Village Fest, held every Thursday evening from 5 PM to 10 PM. This event allows volunteers to connect with locals and visitors while helping raise essential funds and spreading awareness of the center’s programs. Two shifts are available for those interested in volunteering without committing to the entire evening.

Volunteering at these events provides a chance to make a meaningful impact while meeting others who share an interest in wildlife conservation. The support of volunteers helps build awareness, foster community engagement, and generate funds necessary for the center’s mission.

For more information or to volunteer, individuals can contact Volunteer Coordinator Andrea Hoone via email.

“Thank you for being an essential part of the Desert Wildlife Center community,” states the release. “Together, we can make a difference for our wildlife!”
