The Desi Strong Foundation will hold its 8th Annual Run/Walk 4 Kids on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Rancho Mirage Community Park in Rancho Mirage, California. The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Pacific Standard Time, with registration starting at 6:30 a.m.

The event is free to attend. However, those wishing to participate in the 5K run or walk are asked to make a small donation. Following the main race, there will be a Kids Fun Run. Other activities include music from a DJ, dancers, a photo booth, and a Kid Zone.

According to the foundation’s statement: “Until we achieve a cure, our efforts will ensure these families receive the comfort, relief, support and fun to help them in the ultimate fight against these diseases. Please join our foundations in the fight to CURE Pediatric Cancer and other serious illnesses.”

The Desi Strong Foundation focuses on supporting children with cancer by raising awareness and funds for research as well as providing direct assistance to local families affected by pediatric cancer. They also distribute Desi Strong Dolls at no cost to children undergoing treatment.

“We can’t all be doctors or cancer researchers or caregivers, but walking with us can raise the money that makes their work possible. And in the meantime, help children and their families feel the love while they fight these horrible diseases,” the foundation said.

The event is supported by sponsors including Bright Event Rentals, CV Photo Booths, Life Stream Blood Bank, DJ Paul’s Kids, and Club ACME Moving & Storage.

Founded in 2016 after Desirae Ava Grace Cechin died from stage IV high risk neuroblastoma, the Desi Strong Foundation has since assisted more than 30 local families through gift cards for travel expenses, meals, lodging and household bills. The group also donates funds for pediatric cancer research and encourages those interested to visit their website at www.DesiStrong.org for more information about their programs and beneficiaries.
