Registration is now open for the Desi Strong Foundation’s 7th Annual Run/Walk 4 Kids, scheduled to take place on February 8, 2025. The event will be held at Rancho Mirage Community Park in Rancho Mirage, California. Participants can register as runners, form teams, or become sponsors.
The event aims to raise awareness and support for pediatric cancer research. “Treatments for pediatric cancer are not good enough,” the foundation stated. “We need more awareness and we need more hospitals doing research.” The statement emphasized that current treatments should not be considered the best available options for children like Desi and others battling cancer.
Entry to the event is free, with a small donation requested for those participating in the chip-timed 5K race. The schedule begins with registration at 6:30 a.m., followed by the National Anthem at 7:50 a.m., and the start of the 5K at 8:00 a.m.
Following the completion of the race, a Family Bubble Run will take place to honor families affected by pediatric cancer. The event promises various activities including food, music, vendors, raffles, and a kid zone.
