The Riverside Sheriff’s Office in Perris, California, will conduct DUI patrols on July 25, 2025. The patrols are scheduled from 6 p.m. to midnight, targeting drivers suspected of driving under the influence.
“Impaired driving is preventable,” stated Sergeant Jeremy Bracey. “It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”
The public is reminded that impaired driving isn’t limited to alcohol consumption. Certain prescription and over-the-counter medications can also affect driving ability. It’s important to adhere to usage directions and heed warning labels regarding driving. While marijuana use for medicinal and recreational purposes is legal, driving under its influence remains illegal.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI may face fines and penalties averaging $13,500, along with a suspended license.
This program receives funding from a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
