Springfield Thunderbirds rookie Dalibor Dvorsky and Charlotte Checkers defenseman Trevor Carrick led the Eastern Conference to a 19-13 victory in the 2025 AHL All-Star Skills Competition. The event, presented by Spotlight 29 Casino and Silvercrest, took place on Sunday evening at Acrisure Arena, home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Dvorsky, aged 19, excelled in the Silvercrest Accuracy Shooting event by hitting four targets in six attempts. His group also succeeded in all three tries during the Silvercrest Pass and Score. He concluded his performance by scoring in the Upper Deck Breakaway Relay.

Carrick, who is participating in his third AHL All-Star event and currently leads as the league’s top-scoring defenseman this season, teamed up with Dvorsky and Utica’s Simon Nemec to earn a point in the Inglasco Puck Control Relay. Carrick later won the CCM Hardest Shot event with a shot recorded at 100.9 miles per hour.

With two-time defending champion Ethen Frank called up to the Washington Capitals, Bakersfield Condors rookie Matthew Savoie claimed victory in the CCM Fastest Skater event with a lap time of 13.654 seconds.

Michael DiPietro from the Providence Bruins and Dennis Hildeby from the Toronto Marlies shared CCM Top Goaltender honors by stopping 15 out of 18 shots each over three goaltending events. Their performances included an impressive showing of stopping eight out of ten shots in the Fortune Tires Rapid Fire event.

The 2025 AHL All-Star Classic continues on Monday with an induction ceremony for Rene Drolet, Dunc Fisher, Michael Leighton, and Michel Picard into the AHL Hall of Fame. The ceremony will be streamed live on AHLTV on FloHockey and FloHockey’s social platforms at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.

The mid-season showcase concludes Monday night with the 2025 AHL All-Star Challenge presented by Spotlight 29 Casino at 9 ET/6 PT.
