Fatal head-on collision under investigation in San Jacinto

Deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to a fatal two-vehicle, head-on collision on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 4:22 p.m. The incident occurred on Ramona Expressway, west of Sanderson Avenue in San Jacinto.

Upon arrival, deputies and paramedics found that three occupants of one vehicle had already been helped out by off-duty nurses and were receiving medical care. Medical personnel then took over and transported the injured individuals to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle was trapped inside and pronounced dead at the scene.

The San Jacinto Traffic Team took charge of the investigation. According to their preliminary findings, one vehicle traveling westbound crossed over the center line and collided head-on with the other vehicle. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Authorities have not released further details.

Ramona Expressway was temporarily closed between Sanderson Avenue and Warren Road due to the investigation. The Sheriff’s Department encourages anyone with information about this incident to contact Corporal Cortez at the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station or Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch.
