Fatal pedestrian accident under investigation by Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station

On the evening of July 17, 2025, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a major injury traffic collision on Van Buren Boulevard in Jurupa Valley. A pedestrian was found in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station is leading an ongoing investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made, and it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The identity of the victim is being withheld until family members are notified.

Van Buren Boulevard was temporarily closed between Etiwanda Avenue and Bellegrave Avenue for evidence collection and scene processing.
