Fatal traffic collision in Moreno Valley under investigation by sheriff’s station

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Pigeon Pass Drive and Cougar Canyon Drive on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 5:59 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found a vehicle with significant damage. Both the driver and one passenger were pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries. A second passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Traffic Reconstruction team from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station is investigating the cause of the crash. The identities of those who died have not been released pending notification of their families. Authorities have not determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
