Friends of the Children are hiring for two positions in the Coachella Valley.

Operations Director

Friends of the Children – Coachella Valley (Friends – Coachella Valley) is seeking a committed leader to use their expertise, vision, and operational skills as they establish and grow their new Coachella Valley location. The organization’s model aims to break the cycle of generational poverty for children facing significant barriers by providing professional mentors to thousands of children across the country. The Operations Director will support human resources, finance, information technology, social media and marketing, and other enabling functions to ensure optimal operations.

Program Director

Friends of the Children has recently expanded to Coachella Valley and is looking for a Program Director to coordinate, implement, and sustain their program in the region. The organization’s model focuses on breaking the cycle of generational poverty for children facing substantial barriers by providing paid professional mentors. The Program Director will work towards establishing and expanding this evidence-based model in Coachella Valley. They will advocate for children facing systemic barriers and communicate the urgency of the mission. Additionally, they will develop relationships with caregivers and partner organizations to maximize program impact across generations. The Program Director will collaborate with community leaders and partner organizations to change perceptions and treatment of vulnerable youth. Responsibilities include leading mentors, implementing child selection processes, and maintaining relationships with families, schools, and community partners.
