The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has announced the appointment of Giovanni Virgen to the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority, which governs the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

Virgen, a Palm Springs native, has spent most of his life in the Coachella Valley. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. Currently, he is employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Armtec Defense Technologies in Coachella, California. Reflecting on his new role, Virgen stated, “Over the course of my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the U.S. Army, public works agencies, and various other government agencies. Currently serving as state appointees are Brian Conley, Sandra Magana-Cuellar, and Jeff Ohlfs. The second county appointee is Jonathan Hoy while Jerry Ogburn and Nancy Stuart serve as city appointees.
