Coachella Valley residents will have the opportunity to attend community meetings about hospital lease negotiations between the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation and Tenet Health. According to the article, “The Desert Healthcare District and Foundation Board of Directors wants to hear your questions and comments about the proposed lease and what it means for Coachella Valley residents.”

The public meetings have been scheduled to take place in different areas to reach a broad spectrum of residents. These meetings are crucial for residents to voice their concerns and provide feedback on the proposed lease agreement. As mentioned in the article, “The public is invited to participate in the community meetings” on the following dates and locations:

– April 16 — Indio/Coachella residents, Fantasy Springs Special Events Center, 84-245 Indian Springs Parkway, Indio
– April 30 — Palm Desert/Indian Wells/ La Quinta residents, UCR Palm Desert – Building B, 75080 Frank Sinatra Drive, Palm Desert

The current lease between the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation and Tenet Health is set to expire in 2027. Tenet Health has proposed a new 30-year lease that would ultimately give them ownership of the hospital at the end of the lease term. However, the District and Foundation Board has requested that Tenet remove the purchase option from the proposal, which has not yet been done. Talks regarding the lease negotiations are still ongoing.

Residents are encouraged to participate in these community meetings to stay informed and to have their voices heard in this important decision-making process. For further updates on meeting venues and additional information, individuals can visit dhcd.org.
