On June 21, 2025, the Hemet Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop in the 41000 block of Beachwood Avenue, leading to the arrest of Andrew Green. Green, a 24-year-old resident of Hemet, was found with multiple plastic bags of fentanyl and had two felony warrants related to narcotics sales. This prompted further investigation and a search warrant for his residence.
The search revealed additional fentanyl and items associated with narcotics sales. Deputies also discovered fourteen firearms at Green’s home, including unregistered pistols, a short-barreled automatic rifle, unregistered AR-15 rifles, a stolen AR-15, black powder rifles, and antique shotguns. As a convicted felon, Green is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on charges related to fentanyl sales and weapons violations.
The investigation into the firearms’ possession continues as authorities seek information about potential thefts linked to these weapons. “Anyone with information regarding these firearms or this case should contact Deputy Ryan Weber at the Hemet Sheriff’s Station at (951)791-3400,” stated an official release.
The Riverside Sheriff’s Office emphasized its commitment to proactive law enforcement focused on addressing criminal activities within communities. “Curbing illegal weapon possession and the sale of dangerous drugs such as fentanyl will continue to be a top priority,” they stated.
