Investigation underway after fatal shooting of teenager in Moreno Valley

On the evening of December 30, 2025, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a business in the 22000 block of Town Circle in Moreno Valley. Upon arrival at approximately 7:38 p.m., deputies found a 16-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Efforts to save the victim were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Central Homicide Unit of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigators are working to identify those responsible for the shooting. The identity of the victim is being withheld due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office released this statement: “The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Central Homicide Investigator Denham at (951) 955-2777 or Moreno Valley Station Investigator Morales at (951) 486-6700.”
