Jurupa Valley hit and run leaves one pedestrian dead, investigation ongoing

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced on March 15 that a fatal hit and run collision occurred in Jurupa Valley, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The incident took place at approximately 2:23 a.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Campbell Street.

Authorities said deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, they found the victim lying in the roadway with major injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station has taken over the investigation. Officials stated that it is still unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident. The identity of the victim is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.

As part of their investigation, law enforcement temporarily closed the intersection where the collision occurred. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the event or has information about it to contact Deputy Davalos at (951) 955–2600 or Riverside County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (951) 776–1099.
