Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team acted on complaints about possible illegal marijuana cultivation in the unincorporated area of Lake Elsinore. On September 4, 2025, they executed a search warrant at a property located in the 33000 block of Westlong Street.
During the operation, law enforcement found that both the main residence and an additional dwelling had been converted into a site for growing marijuana. Authorities seized and destroyed about 815 marijuana plants at different stages of growth. Southern California Edison also responded to the scene and disconnected power after discovering that the electrical system in the home had been illegally modified.
The property was vacant when deputies arrived, and no arrests have been made so far. The investigation remains open, and officials are not releasing further details at this time.
