Lake Elsinore deputies respond to false assault report; investigation ongoing

Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on Friday, September 5, 2025. The incident took place in the 32000 block of Riverside Drive in Lake Elsinore at approximately 2:58 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies requested a lockdown of the area and were assisted by the Sheriff’s Aviation Unit in conducting a safety sweep and searching the location. No injuries were reported, and no evidence of an assault was found. After determining there was no credible threat, authorities lifted the lockdown.

The investigation into identifying the individual responsible for making the false report is ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details about the case at this time.
