INDIO, CA – Latin Grammy Award-winning norteño group Los Tucanes de Tijuana are set to perform at the Special Events Center stage at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Sunday, Oct. 13. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $49 and will go on sale on Friday, April 12.

Formed in Tijuana, Baja California in 1987, the band, led by Mario Quintero Lara, is known for their unique approach to norteño music. They were pioneers in playing music in a rougher manner, which influenced many other norteño artists and gave a signature sound to Mexico’s Pacific states.

Over the years, Los Tucanes de Tijuana have achieved numerous accolades, including a Latin Grammy in 2012 for the album “365 Días” and multiple Grammy Award nominations. Mario Quintero Lara has also been recognized with several BMI Awards for his work as a composer.

The group made history as the first norteño band to win an international film award at the Monaco International Film Festival for their documentary “Los Ilegales” and received a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame in 2008.

In a notable milestone, Los Tucanes de Tijuana became the first regional Mexican music group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2019, showcasing their wide appeal beyond traditional boundaries.

With a global reach, the band has sold over 25 million albums worldwide, earning numerous Gold and Platinum records. Their hit songs like “La Chona,” “El Tucanazo,” “La Chica Sexy,” “Vivir de Noche,” and “El Centenario” continue to resonate with audiences on radio stations and streaming platforms.

Tickets for the upcoming show at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino can be purchased at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, via phone at 800-827-2946, or online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com.
