Marriott Vacations Worldwide is hosting hiring events to fill up to 200 positions across a variety of departments at its five locations in the Palm Desert area.

The first scheduled hiring event took place this week, but two more will be held in July, a Patch Palm Desert release said. There will be a hiring event from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday at Marriott’s Desert Spring Villas, located at 1091 Pinehurst Lane; Palm Desert, CA 92260. The third and final scheduled event will run during the same hours on Thursday at The Westin Mission Hills Resort Villas, located at 71777 Dinah Shore Drive; Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.

“At Marriott, we are a company of innovative, enthusiastic & dedicated associates that strive to drive results for our business each day,” a Marriott Careers Twitter post said this week.

A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for new hires, and non-tipped hourly wages start at $19/hour, the Patch release said. There is a wide range of opportunities; with open positions across first, second and third shifts. Additionally, both part- and full-time jobs are available. Although preferred, relevant experience is not mandatory, and recruits will be paid during training.

Marriott employees also receive benefits such as discounts on vacation experiences and stays at their global resorts, and those discounts extend to families and friends; the release said. Associates can get a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, paid time off, enrollment in a 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase programs, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance counseling and financial counseling.

Coachella awarded $10 million grant for Community Resilience Center
