Old Town Artisan Studios has appointed Roccie Hill as its new Executive Director. Hill has over 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, focusing on community engagement, fundraising, and strategic planning.

Hill, known for her advocacy for the arts and underserved communities, has successfully secured millions in funding. Her previous roles include Executive Director positions at the Mendocino Art Center and Guide Dogs of the Desert. Additionally, she was the Director of Development for the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in the UK, where she managed significant donations, some with the involvement of King Charles.

Hill has chaired the California Association of Nonprofits Public Policy Council for eight years and received President Barack Obama’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her volunteerism.

“It is a true joy to welcome Roccie Hill,” said the organization’s Founder, Victory Grund. “Her passion, curiosity, and deep understanding of how art can uplift and heal will be a powerful asset to our organization.”

Aside from her nonprofit work, Hill is an accomplished author. Her novel “The Blood of My Mother” won first place in the WILLA Awards for Historical Fiction in 2024. Another book, “The Wounds of My Father,” is scheduled for release in May 2025.

Hill expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to join Old Town Artisan Studios. This organization has an extraordinary mission and a deep impact on the community. I look forward to contributing to its legacy and helping shape a creative future for the Coachella Valley.”
