One dead, two injured after shooting in Coachella; homicide investigation underway

Deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence on the 49000 block of Corte Molino in Coachella early Saturday morning. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at approximately 3:45 a.m. and found three adolescent males with gunshot wounds.

Deputies provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. One of the victims died at the scene despite efforts to save him, while the other two were taken to local hospitals in critical condition.

The Central Homicide Unit of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation. Authorities have not made any arrests and state that the investigation is ongoing.
