The One Valley Foundation and the Grant Fuhr Foundation have announced a partnership for the 2025 One Valley Foundation and Grant Fuhr Celebrity Golf Invitational, scheduled for December 13 and 14, 2025. The event aims to support youth sports in the Coachella Valley.
The One Valley Foundation, which is affiliated with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, has organized annual golf tournaments since 2022. This year marks the first collaboration with NHL Hall-of-Famer Grant Fuhr and his foundation. Both organizations are focused on developing youth sports and supporting young athletes in the region.
Grant Fuhr, President of the One Valley Foundation and Founder of the Grant Fuhr Foundation, said: “The Firebirds and the One Valley Foundation have made this tournament a true community tradition. By teaming up this year, we’re combining our efforts to build on that legacy and make an even greater impact for youth sports across the valley.”
The event will begin with a Pairings Dinner at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert on December 13. The dinner will include entertainment and a player-pairing reveal featuring Firebirds players and celebrity guests.
Tournament play will take place on December 14 at Desert Willow Golf Resort. Participants will play alongside Firebirds personalities and celebrities. Afterward, there will be an awards luncheon and fundraising presentation to benefit youth sports programs throughout the Coachella Valley.
John Page, Senior Vice President of Acrisure Arena and the Coachella Valley Firebirds, stated: “This event has grown into one of our most popular and impactful highlights of the hockey season. Partnering with Grant Fuhr and his foundation brings an incredible new energy and purpose to the tournament. Together, we’re building opportunities for young athletes and ensuring the next generation has access to hockey and the chance to fall in love with sports right here in the desert.”
Since its founding, the Grant Fuhr Foundation has raised over $300,000 for local causes, focusing on keeping funds within Coachella Valley communities. The partnership with One Valley Foundation this year is set to directly fund youth sports initiatives such as equipment donations and access programs designed to keep children active while teaching teamwork skills.
Both foundations emphasize their shared commitment to community involvement, character development, and inclusion—values they say are central to Firebirds hockey both on-ice and off-ice.
Golfers interested in participating are encouraged to reserve spots early due to limited availability. John Page added: “We have had an overwhelming response to this tournament each year, selling out foursomes with priority access for our season ticket members and partners; however, the expansion of the tournament this year allows us to open up more spaces and have a larger number of participants join us. This year’s lineup of Firebirds players, coaches and other notable sports and entertainment personalities looks to be one of the most memorable golf events in town.”
