Coachella Valley Firebirds forward Oscar Fisker Mølgaard has been named to Denmark’s roster for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
Mølgaard, who is 20 years old and from Hjørring, Denmark, has tallied 17 points—6 goals and 11 assists—in 28 games for the Firebirds this season. He has previously played for Denmark at the IIHF World Championships and World Junior Championship.
After being selected by the Seattle Kraken in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Mølgaard made his NHL debut earlier this season and recorded an assist over three games with the Kraken.
“Oscar’s selection to Team Denmark is a well-earned opportunity,” said Troy Bodie, General Manager of the Coachella Valley Firebirds. “He has consistently represented his country at the international level, and this selection reflects both his previous experience with Denmark’s national teams and the work he continues to put in every day with our organization. We’re proud to see him earn the chance to compete on the Olympic stage.”
Before joining Coachella Valley, Mølgaard played 129 games for HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League.
The men’s hockey tournament at Milano Cortina 2026 marks the first time since 2014 that NHL players will participate in Olympic competition. The tournament starts on February 11th and concludes with the gold medal game on February 22nd.
The Coachella Valley Firebirds are also introducing several updates for fans ahead of next season. These include new ticket packages such as flex plans and nine-game plans designed to offer more flexibility. Premium seating options have become available again after three years, providing VIP amenities at Acrisure Arena. The team is also implementing fan-focused improvements like advance-purchase parking savings, new food options aimed at affordability, earlier weekday start times, and pregame Happy Hour events.
